Happy New Year

I dunno about you but 2013 wasn't a very good year for me so I intend to make 2014 amazing to make up for that. I want to rid my life of negative people and stop taking myself so seriously.


I want to set out some Goals for 2014 for my self to achieve before the end of 2014.



* One of the things is I want to start a YouTube channel, on make-up and beauty and Things.Sorta like  Zoella or Sprinkle of Glitter.

* I want to get out of bed at 10am, which will be a struggle if you know me.

* This may sound stupid to some people but this is a big deal for me, I want to go into town without make up on and be ok with it.

* I want to be more healthy this year and start juicing and exercising more often cause god know I could do with it.

* I want to do something for me this year that might sound strange but im the person who goes around making sure everyone else is alright , so i want to do something that benefits me, Be as bit selfish.

* As I said above I take myself far to seriously, so I want to do something that is really out of my comfort zone, as more of a test to see could I actually do.



Also I found this really cool idea that im going to try and I hope you will too, Get a jar or container (Im using a big Mason jar), and write down all the good things that's happened to you in 2014 and open it in 2015. I will then write a blog post on some of them, as like a recap of the year. :)


I hope everyone has a good night tonight and starts 2014 of with a bang.Make of it what you will and as it says in the photo above you have a blank canvas, don't leave it boring and mundane and routine like I did this year do something that you look back on your life and remember why 2014 was amazing.

Homemade Lips Scrubs

Im a big advocate of D.I.Y beauty products, why spend a lot of money on something you can do yourself.

Key Essentials are Oil, White/Brown Sugar and A Container of your choice.
Use either Brown or White Sugar its your choice, White has a finer consistency than Brown Sugar.

Its up to you to choose whatever one you would rather use, based on the ingredients you have.

Cinnamon Sugar

This one is the easiest to do.

Ingredients

• White/Brown Sugar
• Ground Cinnamon

Use your desired amount of sugar (this depends on the size of your container). Add your Cinnamon, Mash it around until the cinnamon is evenly distributed through the sugar and put into your Container. Store in the Fridge in between uses.

Rosemary and Peppermint

Ingredients

• White/Brown Sugar
• Fresh Rosemary
• Peppermint Extract

The peppermint will also cool down your lips and freshen your breath.

Chop the Rosemary into tiny bits before you add it to the bowl and use a folding motion on this one as the sugar will dissolve if your not careful.Add a few drops of Peppermint Extract and put into your Container.

Sweet Honey

Ingredients

• 1/2 tsp. Olive Oil
• 2 tbsp. Sugar 
• 1 tsp. Honey

Combine the ingredients, mixing until everything is thoroughly combined, and then put into your Container.



Massage onto lips, Use a Wet Paper towel or Flannel to remove and use a lip balm after to keep lips soft.

What is your favorite Christmas song?
This is a toss up between The Pogues - Fairytale of New York and Michael Buble- Christmas(Baby Please Come Home).



What is your favorite festive drink?
The White Chocolate Peppermint Hot Chocolate from Starbucks is amazing, if you haven't tried it i urge you to get it before they stop selling it.


What is your favorite Christmas movie?
I love The Holiday and Love Actually but a really Christmasy movie would have to Elf.


What is at the top of your Christmas list?
I really want One Direction's new Perfume cause I smelled it last week and its amazing that's really the only thing i really want at the moment.

What is your favorite festive makeup or nail art look?
I love a Neutral eye with maybe some black liquid liner and a Dark red lip.I'm really love nail art so i try anything I can find on Tumblr.


What is your favorite outfit for Christmas?
This year im wearing this black shift dress with an Embellished Collar with tights and Ankle boots.


Playing out in the snow or sitting by the fire with cocoa?
Sitting by the Fire is more appealing to me cause when I go out in the snow my hands get really cold and it take a good 5 hours to get warm again so that sucks.


Do you love or loathe wrapping presents?
I like wrapping presents just hate buying them I can never think of things to get people.


What is your favorite Christmas food?
My Nana make a trifle every year and its amazing so I cam't wait for that.


What is your favorite thing about Christmas?
My favourite thing about Christmas is that there are always movies on TV and your Family's around and in my house everyone starts drinking and telling hilarious stories so it's always great in my house at Christmas.

Winter Lips

Winter is the time to shelve your lip glosses and barely there balms and break out those 'look at me' lipsticks.
Bold lips can be fabulously paired with a neutral eye.

The trick is knowing how to wear it.

• Think about the mood your trying to convey

                              -A classic lip look would be a Red.

Mac's Russian Red

                  - Something a bit punchier would be a Coral or Orange.

Cara Delevingne sports a coral lip

                 - Or be daring with a dark plum almost black lip.

             

               

Both can be paired with a neutral eye, remember not to pair it with a heavy eye instead sharpen your eyes with Liquid Eyeliner and Mascara.

Don't wear coral or poppy red lip colour if your worried about making your teeth appear yellow.Stick to blue toned lipsticks these will appear whiter and brighter. A good Blue toned Red is Mac's Russian Red.

Don't exaggerate full lips, Bright colours can make your lips look bigger anyway, if you have naturally larger lip (I envy you),don't go over the lip line, if you do your lips will look out of balance with the rest of your face. 

*Tip* Store Bright Lipstick in the fridge, it will prolong its life and make it easier to apply. Also exfoliate your lips first to make sure to have an even finish, I would recommend you exfoliate your lips at least two times a week if not more especially in Winter.

If you don't want to fork out for a lip scrub you can make one yourself.

• Apply a thick layer of lip balm (I use Vaseline), leave on for about 10 minutes then using a soft toothbrush brush back and forth, wipe away with a flannel and apply a lip balm over. 

I will do a more detailed blog post on some other homemade lip scrubs but this is one that I think everyone could do because they should have these items in there possession.

10 Beauty Tips and Facts

Here are some Beauty Tips you may not have known.

• Contrary to belief cucumber on your eyes does make a difference, it contains potassium & Vitamin A,C& E which will in turn freshen your eyes. 

• This is an obvious one but drinking plenty of water will clear toxins and detox your body, therefore clearing your skin.

• A nice beauty tip is to spray some of your favourite perfume on your hairbrush so when your hair blows in the wind it will smell divine.

• If you dye your hair and don't like the colour or its not what you wanted wash your hair with fairy liquid and it will remove the dye. Ketchup works the same.

• Coffee granules are good to exfoliate your skin , also reduces cellulite.

• Massaging an ice cube on your skin will reduce redness and swelling of acne.Ice also improves circulation and removes dirt and oil.

• Cut a slice of lemon and lightly squeeze the lemon so some of the juice comes out, drizzle some honey on the lemon slice and massage it onto your face, targeting problem area's, The lemon will kill off the spot while the honey moisturizes your skin.Leave on your skin for 20 mins and wash off. Its best to do this before going to bed because your skin will breathe overnight. 

• Toothpaste on spots reduces swelling, but avoid using gel toothpaste that will only irritate the spot and will do the opposite.

• Lemon Juice will whiten the tips of your nails.

• Moisturizing your feet before going to bed and wearing socks in bed will soften your feet.

Would You Rather - Beauty Edition

I found this online and decided to do it aswell. These are my own opinions so if you don't agree with them feel free to do this yourself.

Would you rather lose all your Mascara's, Eyeliners, Lipsticks and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eye shadows ? 

I would for sure rather lose my palettes and eye shadows cause I don't really use them that often I don't think I could give up Mascara or be without my Red Lipstick.

Would you rather chop of all your hair or never be able to cut it again ?

This is hard because if you never cut your hair again it would be ratty at the ends but at the same time it takes forever for my hair to grow so i would choose to never cut it again.

Would you rather have a coral or a pink cheek ?

Coral to me is a way nicer colour than pink and also they haven't specified what shade of pink so you colour be rocking a neon pink cheek and that's not cute.

If you had $1000 to spend would you rather buy clothes or make up?

I really had a hard time choosing an answer for this but I think make up cause clothes will go out of fashion and I think make up will last longer than clothes....maybe not that's just my opinion.

Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick ?

Eyeliner as lipstick !!! , the thought of putting lipstick on/in your eyes is making me cringe.

Would you rather only shop at Mac or Sephora ?

I think Mac because its more available to me and the times I've used Sephora products I really haven't been gone on them. Mac to me is a better brand.

Would you rather only use one eye shadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life? 

One eye shadow colour is so boring and I basically live in red lipstick so I would choose one lip colour.

Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter ?

Well I live in Ireland so based on that Winter clothes in Summer because most summers in Ireland, the one gone past being the only exception, are really cold anyway.

Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round ?

I don't think this questions refers to 'Bright' I think it more light, and in that case I would choose that cause I wear a lot of pastel colours on my nails, Im not a fan of bright nails like neon colours and such but a dark nail is nice in winter but not all year long so 'bright' .

Would you rather give up your favourite lip product or favourite eye product ?

These question are hard, My favourite Eye product is Avon's Sonic Boost Mascara and My favourite lip product is Mac's Russian Red. I don't think I could live without Mascara but at the same time I love red lipstick but I would rather give up my lipstick cause I love Mascara too much.

Would you rather only be able wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun ?

A ponytail for sure cause my hair's long and quite heavy so when its in a messy bun it will only stay in for a short amount of time while a ponytail is more safe and easier.

Would you rather never to be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss ?

I don't like lip gloss it always gets stuck in my hair and I honestly don't think i could go a day without having nail varnish on.

Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday ?

Oh god.I defiantly wouldn't sharpie them in cause that looks ridiculous, I think I would shave them off and get a fringe (bangs) to cover them so nobody would notice.

Would you rather live without make up or nail polish ?

Thank god this is the last question cause I can't do this anymore. The thought of having no make up is actually terrifying to me even though I love nail varnish im gonna have to say nail varnish.

October Favourites 2013

Favourite Song/Artist:
I've been listen to a lot of Bruno Mars,Celine Dion and Shania Twain recently.In fact while writing this i have Forever and Always playing.I also found this guy called Landon Austin and I've been obsessed with his song Once in a Lifetime, its amazing if you haven't heard him check him out.


Favourite Beauty Product:
Anyone that knows me knows how obsessed with Rimmel's Stay Matte Mousse Foundation I am, its so good, I have convinced every girl I know to purchase this and its my go to Foundation, It just doesn't let you down, but in my opinion most of Rimmel's products never do.



Favourite TV Show/Movie:
Season 6 of True Blood has just started here in Ireland and I am so into it, I physically can't get enough of it, I'm tempted to watch the episodes online but i like having something to look forward to every Monday night.

Also this month I seen Pacific Rim, I meant to see this in the cinema but I never got around to it, but oh my god if you haven't seen this movie you need to see it, its everything and more the reviews said it would be.


Favourite Food:
Not really food but sweets, I've been having cravings for sour skittles there just so good, I need to have one every day (Packet not just one skittle.)



Favourite Book/Magazine:
My Holy Grail is LOOK magazine its everything to me, I need to get it every time it comes out. I like the reviews of make up and there picks of the best on the high street. I think it should be every girls fashion bible.



Favourite Youtuber:
CutiePieMarzia -- I've been watching a lot a lot of her recently i like to see what she's wearing, I really like her style and every time she has a new Haul video my bank account suffers but I love her regardless.



Fashion Favourite:
Anything leather/plaid or if it has a pointed toe, my Autumn Winter Wardrobe is full of it. I went shopping and my basket only contained leather, plaid or pointed toe shoes. 



Beauty Product I didn't like:
I bought the new Catrice Highlighter (The powder) and I haven't really noticed it on, Its not really pigmented and I find that it cakes over my foundation, so I'm really not loving this product.



Random Favourite:
Since it's now Autumn I Thought I would buy some new Yankee Candles but ended up not getting any really typically Autumnal scents, I got Midsummer's Night and A Child's Wish, I really like them especially the first one.
